Hello,

Could anyone please tell me what documents are required to buy National Savings Certificate(NSC) from post office? Also is it allowed that someone can purchase NSC on my behalf?

Thanks for your time.

Required documents are Application Form, ID proof, Address proof, and Photograph.
If you want to buy NSC in your name you need to sign on the application form and also need to give auth letter in the name of person, who is going to submit your application form in PO.

You can check the application form here - http://www.tnsmallsavings.com/formnscapp.htm

You need PAN card, ID proof & address proof e.g. passport, driving license etc. If your investment is below Rs. 50,000, only ID Proof & Residence proof are required. PAN Card is not necessary.
