Child Education -
If you invest 6,940 per month for a period of 18 years then you will get 40 Lakhs in 18 year @ 10% return (I feel that's only possible).

New Home Down Payment -
If you invest 15,550 per month for a period of 5 years then you will get 12 Lakhs in 5 year @ 10% return (I feel that's only possible).

Retirement Planning -

Do also consider inflation in your calculation.

You can check short and long term investment options -
Short term investment options
FDs, PPF, RD

Long term -
- Both HDFC Top200 and ICICI Focused Blue-chip Equity are large cap funds
- IDFC Premier Equity Fund plan-A(G) is mid and small cap so good for long term.
