My PO MIS is maturing in June 2013. However due to certain reason (going abroad on company assignment), I am unable to collect it this month. Could you advise if I could collect the same in the month of November 2013?

Yes, you can. Closure of POMIS Account at Maturity (http://www.policywala.com/content.php/467-How-to-Open-Post-Office-Monthly-Income-Scheme-(PO-MIS)-Account)
The account holder has to make a request of account closure to the post office, on or after expiry of five years of the deposit. The account holder has to submit following documents -
