Edit button of a posted message?

I have posted one thread yesterday, just wanted to update it but the edit button is not coming? Is it an error?

We have disabled this facility.

Thanks. But is there any timeline, within which user can edit it back.

Its depends on the user profile. Normally its around 5 mins.
