Can I open PPF account in my wife's name?

I have PPF account in State Bank of India in my name. Can I open another PPF account in the name of my wife? She is not working at the moment. Please Advice.

You can. No problem.

You can only deposit Rs. 70000/- maximum in both your and your wife's PPF account.
