Can I switch my home insurance if claim has not been settled fully?

I had a small claim of my refrigerator stopped working. The claim is still pending with the claims department of ICICI Lombard. Does this now mean that I have to stay with ICICI Lombard for another year? I would much prefer to look for an alternative provider as I am not happy with how our claim is being handled... but wondering whether this would then cause even more trouble settling our claim.

As a standard practice they cannot delay it. If they delay it beyond reasonable time, you can raise it with IRDA - IGMS complaint system.
