regarding insurance claim on used car

I recently purchased a used maruti swift and RC and insurance is still not transferred in my name. and I know I should not drive around without insurance but due to some emergency I had to and had an accident The front bumper is damaged towards the driver side and needs replacement along with some other damage. Please advise the repairs should set me back about 10000-15000. will the insurance company pay or will I have to shell out the 10k out of my own pocket. It will take atleast 10 more days for the insurance transfer to my name. Should I wait that long and then take the car for repairs? Please advise.

Legally you have to transfer the car insurance within 15 days. As per act insurer say no to damage to your vehicle loss.
