Air Bags covered under car insurance or not?

Hi All,

I own Maruti Swift - 2009 model. Just wanted to know that the Air Bags provided in the car are covered under car insurance or not?

If it came as body fitted than it is covered. If you have fitted later as accessary and not mentioned in the insurance application form, it is not.

Confused - I think it comes under plastic parts and only 50% of the cliam amount is paid under insurance.

Confused and Pankaj - Both of you are right.

It is covered under insurance. But one has to give prior intimation to the company before insuring the car.Atleast one of my friend had to do this recently before insuring his car with Tata Aig.Have no clue about the rest.
