Would I need to take additional Home Insurance?

Hi Experts,

I am presently living in a building society in South Delhi. The Society Building and Contents were insured by my society admin. Would I need to take additional Home Insurance?

Please guide.

Normally Societies take Building Fire Insurance. So its always better to check with the society -

• What cover they have?
• Is earth quack cover is there with Fire Insurance?
• If content cover of the flat owner is also covered, what is the amount?

Its always better to take content cover separate, because you have the content list and the coverage like burglary insurance, Earth quack insurance are normally missing in the society coverage, to reduce cost.

Better take a copy of the insurance taken by the society. And check the coverage. If you are not fully insured, go and buy another insurance.
