Registered the car in my name, what about insurance?

We have Hyundai Santro car. The above car is bought in the name my brother. Now my brother is going outside india for higher studies, so recently I have registered the same is in my name. Should I have to inform the insurance company and change the insurance policy in my name?

Yes immediately. The insurance policy has to be transferred in your name (In Govt. companies they charge a nominal transfer fee).
