Please suggest - Mediclaim/Health insurance policy with critical illness?

I am looking forward to take mediclaim/Health insurance policy for my self (28 years) and dependent parents (55 years) and (61 years) with critical illness cover. I am dilemma which policy to buy?

I would suggest take seprate mediclaim policy for both of your parents. Critical Illness - I am not sure if some company cover your parents at this age. Normally fresh proposal accepted till 45 years of age.

As suggested by V.r.s.nathan go for seperate Mediclaim Policy.
Does not require to undergo a Medical test required up to the age of 45 years. You can take critical illness policy from below companies -
Company - Max Entry Age
Bajaj - 59
Reliance - 45
Tata Aig - 64

If you are looking for cheapest option - use websites like - insurancemall.in, policybazaar.com etc.

LIC have critical illness rider, if you take any policy from LIC. These policies are served by general insurance companies.

Dear Subodh

You might want to go for National Varistha plan for your father in which critical illness cover is also provided.
Also there are quite a few senior citizen plans available which you might want to look at.

I also agree with taking separate mediclaim policies for you and your parents.

I would suggest that should take individual health policy for yourself and critical illness cover for your family including your old parents.

In case of critical illness policy, it better over normal policy because it provides higher coverage, but it also requires higher premium to be paid. It covers disease like cancer, organ transplant, heart attack, etc. These type of diseases consider no age that is why i suggested critical illness policy for family.
