Car parked in the society premises and gets damaged due to thrown stone from outside?

I don’t know whether it is right to ask hypothetical question here, just wanted to increase my knowledge - If car parked in the society premises and gets damaged i.e. glass broken due to thrown stone from outside. Can I still claim damages to it under my car insurance policy?

Any damage to car is covered (other than deliberate or self damage by the insured) under car insurance.

How do the surveyor would knew that the damage is not deliberate?
