Rent agreement copy for HRA?

Is it necessary to produce rent agreement copy with rent receipts on monthly basis to claim HRA from Employer?

To claim HRA rental agreement is not required. Only the rent payment recipts required to submitt to Employer

Can we show rent to paid to mother/father and produce rent receipts to employer to claim HRA exemption? and parent showing income by rent in their IT return.
