What is the difference between Net book and Laptop?

What is the difference between Net book and Laptop? I am looking to buy laptop for my daughter, so just curious about them because I have checked online on Dell website there is huge price difference in both.

Net book are small in size and made only for the user who wants to buy computer for internet usage. With Laptop you can do multi-tasking.

As updated by Pankaj, Net Book is only made for Internet surfing, Even when I have tried it, I find it bit slow than normal laptop. (they use Intel Atom processor, which is cheap and good for internet use). Laptop is good for normal multitasking like your daughter might use it for making project, using MS Word, Excel etc. So my advice would be go for Laptop.
