Loan for acquiring property "purchase of land"?

I am looking to buy plot from a private builder in Greater Noida. What are possible ways of getting loan for acquiring property "purchase of land"? As far as I know -
In general banks do not lend money for the purchase of "land". Pls guide me.

I am not sure about Home loan for plot. But I have got loan for application money funding for Gr. Noida Plot Scheme - 2009 from SBI. Please check with SBI.
