I am looking to buy health insurance for my family. Myself - 35 years; wife 30 years; Son 5 years; parents (father - 65 years & mother - 55 years). What is adequate coverage of health insurance for above family?
Adequate coverage can be told to you only after checking your health history, family health history, present earning etc. So better discuss with insurance advisor for this. Normally take 4-5 times of your income or 3-4 lakhs for each member of the family. Take more coverage for older person in the family, as they are more prone to health issues.

One family floater policy for yourself, wife and son
One for mother
One for father
* If a person is 55 years or more take single policy for him/her. For younger generation go for floater family policy.
