Default Change of address on Home Insurance doc's -

    Hi all,

I went through the insurance company office for my insurance, this year and have, just had to pay Rs.50 to have my address details changed due to a recent house move. I have paid it anyway, can anyone advise if this is fair play.

    Regards,
    Vijay

Yes, The insurance company may charge for any amendment or issue of new policy documentation. They are using their resources to do this for you, so they are charging. Nothing unusual.

Amendments, companies do free of charge. For new policy or duplicate policy documents, the charges are justified.

I think confused is right because the amendment is due to my house move, so the insurer had charged me for admin fee.
