For most of the Underwriter and Claim Administrator posts Indian insurer look for FIII. If you want to work abroad like UK - CII Exam give some exemption for their Diploma and Advance Diploma program in Insurance, and USA - AICPCU -also give exemption for their CPCU program. With these certifications (CPCU and CII), you can look for jobs in UK and USA.

Indian insurer also give preference to CII or CPCU certificate holders. And now many software vendor in India also hire them as Business Analysts.
