    Very often, the cover note is passed off as a policy document. The consumer must insist on a policy document which has terms and conditions printed in detail.
    In car insurance still we won't get policy. Even renewal happens on the basis of cover note and we get another cover note.

    I don’t see the 100% fault of insurance company in this. Things improved quite a bit. But sometimes the proposer/insured won’t give their complete address or agent won’t put in the proposal form. Insured also have to approach insurance company and get his/her insurance policy and update his current address as and when required.
