He's a LIAR.
1- In the 1st statement he lying about himself.
i.e, i'm a truth teller(couldn't hear)
2- In the 2nd statement he is lying about the 1st statement which he asked.

i.e, no, I didn't say that, I said I was a liar.

He is a Liar because if he was truth-teller then his second statement "no, I didn't say that, I said I was a liar" should be true.which means if he is a truth teller then he can not be a liar.
