    Question commission for an agent in general insurance business

    I am presently working as LIC Agent. Looking forward to take agency for a Pvt. General Insurance Company to serve my existing clients and increase my earning. Could you please tell me the commission, an agent earn in general insurance business? Initially, I would be focussing in Health and motor Insurance business.

    As far as my little knowledge goes, Agency commission for motor insurance is 15%.

    As far as my little knowledge goes, Agency commission for motor insurance is 15%.
    Previously it used to be 15%, but now, the commission for compulsory business like Motor, Workmen Compensation, Liability etc is reduced to 10%.
    The commission structure as published by IRDA in their annual report is -

    Hi,
    According to my knowledge, Agents can take up to 20% commission from clients .
