As a normal practice the interest will be calculated on the lowest balance in the account between the close of the fifth day and the end of the month. The interest is credited into the account at the end of each year.
The PPF interest is calculated monthly for the lowest balance between 5th and the end of the month. So keep in mind to deposit before 5th of the month which you wish to deposit to avail the interest for the month.Originally Posted by Akshay
