Health insurance for me and dependent parents?
I want health insurance for me and dependent parents. Our ages - Mine - 26 years, Father – 58 years Mother - 1954 years (Diabetic). I would like to buy a family floater or any other plan - where with health insurance, critical illness, personal accident is covered along diabetes. I will go for individual or family floater, which covers all. Can we claim the health benefits from the first year or is there any waiting period in it?

As your father and mother are 58 and 54 years old, I would recommend buying separate policy for both of them with minimum sum insured of Rs. 500,000 (due to high medical costs now a days). And the diabetics is excluded from the above policy as pre-existing disease. For yourself you can buy single health insurance.

Sir Star Insurance is good. They are offering various plans and also for Senior Citizens from 60 years to 69 years.
