Policy Inception Date

My Vehicle was delivered later than the policy inception date. I need to change the policy inception/ commencement date, Can I do so, what are the formalities. Is this facility available across all insurance companies.

This will be corrected with the help of Policy amendment. Please call the customer care of the insurance company, check if it is possible over phone. Otherwise visit branch with the policy document and RC.
