Thumbs down Reliance General - claim rejected for vehicle fitted with LPG kit and not endorsed in the policy

My car meet with an accident and I wanted to claim for the repair charges, the person who has appointed for surveying the vehicle rejected my claim stating that “my vehicle got fitted with LPG kit and it was not endorsed in the policy”. But I was not aware that it has to be endorsed in the policy, at the time of getting the policy I had provided the RC book in which it has note mentioning that vehicle is fitted with LPG kit but representative did not told about motioning LPG fitting in the policy. When I complained the same to customer care no one bother to answer my query.

Is your RC shows that LPG kit is fitted in the vehicle?
If yes, when it's updated (date) in your RC?
Had you submitted the RC with the proposal form of car insurance?

If you had not specifically mentioned in the proposal form that your car is modified and had LPG Kit installed, I feel the insurance company is right in rejecting the claim.

Rajeev - Vehicles fitted with CNG/LPG Bi-fuel kits have to be separately declared and premium is chargeable at 4% on the value of such kit.
