    Question What is the difference between Burglary and Theft?

    What is the difference between Burglary and Theft? Are both covered under Home Insurance policy?

    Burglary
    It is a theft committed by breaking into or out of the premises. Evidence of breaking in, is necessary.
    Theft
    The unlawful taking of property of another: the term includes such crimes as burglary, larceny and robbery.

    Burglary & House Breaking including larceny and theft are covered under standard Home Insurance policy.

    Robbery or theft are same and theft means theft means taking something that is not yours or theft from one person to another person, such as "Give me your money or I will shoot you" while Burglary is theft from a dwelling or business when there is no one inside the dwelling or business.
    both are covered under the insurance policy.
