    Default Term Insurance Plan for my friends widow mother?

    One of my friend wants to take a term policy, more info about him here -
    i) he wants to take a term policy for his mother,
    ii) her age is 53 years
    iii) she has a family pensioner (getting around 5000/-)

    iv) she is a widow

    I am not sure, whether underwriter would accept the proposal. If he accept, the premium cost would be high.
    Any dependent on her?

    Why underwriter won''t accept the proposal? Any specific reason.
    No dependent on her.

    Because age 53 years, pensioner and no dependent.

    Why she wants to buy insurance, if she has no dependent?
    Insurance is not for investment and return, It's for risk coverage.
    Ask her to invest in safe investments like - PPF, FDs etc.
