I have lost my NSC certificate how to claim money?

I have lost my NSC certificaate but i have photocopies with me. Can i show them photocopies and get duplicate or not possible? Can these certificate scan be missused by others???

1- Details (NSC Number, Date of Issue and Name of holder) - Photocopy would help
2- File a FIR at nearest police station, stating that you have lost the NSC certificates
3- Police gives you a copy of FIR
4- Go to a NOTARY PUBLIC, get an indemnity bond for issue of duplicate certificate. This will be on Rs 100 non judicial stamp paper.
5- Go to the Post Office, get form NC 29 (also attached herewith), fill it up,
6- Submit all the above documents FIR, Indemnity bond, photocopy of NSC and Form NC 29
7- The post office will issue duplicate certificate.

Keep all the above photocopies with you.

Yes, anything happen. Why don't you folllow the above steps and get new certificates and keep them in safe place.

Warrior how many days it usually take to get duplicate.

I made the FIR ,but now with indemnity there is some surety certificate which too needs to be filled.Also the person filling it should have a basic salary more than 10% of the person whose NSC is lost.

I dont know from where this complicated stuff arised.

It took 25 days two years back for me.

Point 1
If the face value of the certificate lost, stolen is Rs. 500 or less, a duplicate certificate may be issued to the applicant without any such surety or guarantee. (read point 13.3 of below link). If it's more than that you need to provide surety.

If the Officer-In-Charge is satisfied about the NSC certificate details and circumstances attending such loss, he may issue a duplicate Certificate.The officer-in-charge will request the applicant to furnish in an indemnity bond on behalf of the NSC certificate lost in the prescribed NSC certificate form with sureties or with bank's guarantee.

The SREG surety (s)/guarantor(s) offered should have a minimum/combined salary of 10% of the future liability.
b) SRNEG employees:
The SRNEG surety(s)/guarantor(s) offered should have a minimum/combined salary of 12.5% of the future liability.
c) Combination of Sureties/guarantors
When SREG employee and SRNEG employee are jointly offered as sureties/ guarantors they should have a combined minimum salary of 12.5% of the future liability.

I have no idea from whom it should be done.

The maturity value of the nsc is worth rupees 80k.

Or all this can be done from the notary public himself ?

Also how much extra money i have to shelve on this in sense .What might be their charges to make such deed indemnity bond and sureties.

As I have mentioned in my previous thread, if the Officer-In-Charge is not satisfied with your reasons, he may ask for surety. The same (surety bond) you can get from Notary Public. You need to clarify your doubts from the Officer-In-Charge first what exactly he wants like -"should have a basic salary more than 10% of the person whose NSC is lost". For this what documents he want. So check with the post Office - Officer-In-Charge and get the job done. I am from Delhi, so no idea about Mumbai.
