    Default Medical checkup

A company says as per IRDA rules, medical check up is mandatory for people above 46 years of age and those with pre-existing diseases like BP. Is this correct?

There is no such IRDA rule. IRDA won't give individual rules to policies. They are the approver of the products. All products are designed by the Insurance Companies.

In normal cases insurance company ask persons above 45 to take medical tests. Because sometimes due to BP or Diabetes other medical problems also come up like - heart problem etc; over period of time.

What's the big deal in medical check up?
Are you trying to hide something from the insurance company?
