Default Is there any difference between Student Travel Insurance Plan and Normal Travel Insurance Plan?

I am looking for travel insurance for my brother, who is going to US for studies. Checked online for Student Travel Insurance Plans. Too me both the plans looks identical. Is there any difference between Student Travel Insurance Plan or Normal Travel Insurance Plan?

    Type's of Travel Insurance
    1- Single Trip Travel Insurance
    2- Multiple Trip Travel Insurance
    3- Business Trip Travel Insurance
    4- Student Travel Insurance

Each insurance product is designed to cater or cover a segment (target audience). So always go for that specific product, which will give you the maximum coverage and low premium then the other products.

    Some of my observations -
1- Normal Travel Insurance Plan is available for maximum coverage period = 180 Days
Student Travel Insurance Plan is available for = 1 Year or 365 Days,

2- Normal Travel Insurance Plan - Need to come back to India for renewal
Student Travel insurance Plan - You can renew from overseas

Some Overseas Student Travel Insurance (ICICI Lombard) available with a continuous cover for 2 years (auto-renewals), so you don't need to renew it after one year and thereby covering your entire period of study without extension hassles.

Some extra coverage under ICICI Lombard's Overseas Student Travel Insurance Plan -

1- Lost fees if you are unable to complete your course
2- Costs of returning home if a relative is ill
3- Costs of a relative visiting you in the UK if you fall ill
4- Cost of returning to your home country for treatment
5- Or in the worst possible situation, returning a body home for burial.
Everyone has a scheme of getting rich.. Which never works.

There is a distinct difference.Student travel insurance is a type of insurance which specially designed for students travelling overseas for education purpose, unlike general travel insurance.
