Requires Help - Friend asked me provide an indemnity bond and surety for LIC Policy

Hi All

My Friend( I know from 5 years) lost his 3 LIC policy, all of them have been matured.
He asked me to provide an indemnity bond and surety.
Though I know him well,please guide me and tell me the duration of this indemnity bond will be for how much time?
The policy agent is telling it may be for the time till amount gets credited to his account.
