Country of Residence of the Insured shall mean the country, Insured is normally residing in currently, and declared as the Residential Address of the Insured in the Policy Schedule. It need not be the same as the country of origin of the Insured or the country whose citizen the Insured is.

As your friend is currently a UK Resident, so won't be eligible for buying travel insurance from Indian Insurance Company.

Ans 1. One can buy a health insurance policy from a country where he currently resides. There are many insurance companies which can help individuals to get insured under travel insurance.

Ans 2. He is not eligible to buy health insurance in India.

Hope your satisfied with the answers.
