Default How to encash Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) bought by my fathetr?

    Hello All,

My father had bought few KVP from Mumbai during his service. He died early this year. My mother is the nominee for it and now wants to encash it. Could you please tell me the procedure encashment?

    - What is the document we need to send and to whom?
    - How much time it will take from start to end?
    - Is there any online procedure available?

    Thanks,
    Amit

    1- Original KVP certificate
2- Proof of Identity (e.g. Valid Indian Passport, Indian Driving License etc.) of the holder.
    3- Application for KVP Encashment
4- The investor/nominee must sign behind the KVP Certificate as a receipt for amount received on encashment.

It depends on post office to post office. 1-3 days.

No, you need to visit the post office, where the KVP is issued or registered.
