Question How to increase the Sum Insured of my Travel Insurance?

My father has multiple trip overseas travel insurance for amount of $ 50,000, which is valid till 31 Jan 2017. My father would like to increase the Sum Insured from $ 50,000 to $ 150,000. Could you please share the process for the same. Or do I need to buy an new travel insurance plan?

If you have not made any claim on your existing policy, you can request the present insurance company to increase the Sum Insured. They may ask you to request via an application or may request you to fill the proposal form again.

In both cases you need to submit:
    1- your existing policy document,
    2- original passport and
    3- additional premium amount.

And most important your father needs to be present in India at the time any such request.
