Default New Account for my Son

I want to open a PPF account for my son. Do I need to give my PAN number? Or
Do I need to apply for my son`s PAN number and then open the New PPF account and deposit Rs 70,000 to her PPF account without any TAX rebate.

    Please guide.

As your Son is minor, Please apply for his New PAN Number. You can open New PPF for your son.

If you are going to invest 70000/- in his PPF account, please remember you would not be able to put any money in your own PPF. As you are exceeding the maximum tax rebate claim amount.

Can you specify what all documents are required for opening of a new PPF account in nationalised bank like PNB?

If you do not have a Permanent Account Number, you will have to furnish an attested copy of either your ration card with your son name on it, voter's identity card or passport.

You need following documents to open a new PPF account -
    1. A photograph
    2. Permanent Account Number (PAN)
    3. If you don't have PAN, than you need to furnish an attested copy of either your ration card, voter's identity card or passport.
