Default Home - Used as Office

I am living in Preet Vihar Area in East Delhi in my owned home. In one of the room of the above home, my spouse uses as Office for private tuitions.

1- Can I buy home insurance even if my spouse uses one of the rooms as an office?

2- Or do I need to buy Office Insurance to cover that room?

No. Homes used for business purposes are not covered under this policy. In such cases,The part of the house used for living purpose should be covered under home insurance and the room where your spouse is having Office, you will need to take Office Insurance Policy to cover the office and its contents.

Do mention the location of the room specifically in the office policy. (Better attach a map of the room with the proposal form.)

    Better safe than sorry later.
