    Question Travel Insurance - USA

I'm looking around for Travel Insurance on the net for my year away in USA.

I keep seeing the term 'excesses'- what does this mean?

An Excess in a policy is the amount that you will have to bear when you make a claim.

Excess is the amount you will bear yourself. Ex- If you have travel insurance - Baggage Coverage for $100 (excess $25). And you lost the baggage during transit. The first $25 you bear and the remaining $75 would be paid by the insurance company.
