    Default How to file IT return of last year?

    One of my friend missed to file IT return last year. Can he file this year for the previous year?

    Yes, Very much. He can file now. But I think there might be little penalty which is negligible.
    In order to get a Loan, you first need to prove that you don't need it.

    Yes, You can File the Returns for last year as well with out penalty. Because it is recession, Govt cancelled the penalty.

    There is no special procedure. you just prepare your return and file in the normal way. As per law, the returns can be filed upto 2 yrs after financial yesr. i.e for the year 2007-08, you may file upto 31st March'10.
