I am an MBA in Finance and Marketing and presently working in ICICI Pru as Unit Manager.

I am looking to go into underwriting field in Life or General insurance field. I am aware about the insurance institute courses. Please guide me how to go about?

My two cents -

Start doing the Indian insurance certification from III, Mumbai. As you were already in the insurance selling try to gather more info about the product. Make comparison charts with other companies products. This way you will gain knowledge about various products and their + and - points.
Try to make entry into the training team of your comany first and than try to move on to Underwriting.
