    Default Can I claim Registration fees - Deduction U/s 80C?

    I have paid registration fees while I had purchased my new house last year.
    Is I am eligible for deduction Us 80C or any other deduction or exemption?
    If yes please quote sec with reference.

    The scope of section 80 C in regard with repayment of principal Amount of housing loan only. you may claim only the principal amount of loan (Excluding Interest) and maximum limit is 100000/- . it says nothing about registration fee. you cant claim registration fees paid out of ur funds.

    Now come to deduction under section 24 . under section 24 you can claim interest part of housing loan .

    Registration Fees Paid for the purchase of house is added to the cost of house, no deduction can be claimed.

    You can get exemption if you have income from capital gains.
