Default Validity of an Insurance policy after turning NRI.

    Hi Polcywala team,

I need your help. I hold three term insurance policies, 2 with ICICI Pru and 1 with HDFC life. I have since moved to Japan and have been here over 18 months. I have been paying my annual premium to the insurance company. Is my Policy still valid? If not, what do I need to ensure the validity of the policies?

    thanks,
    NonResIndian

No idea about the Pvt. Companies. But in LIC your insurance cover continues, even after you become NRI. But you need to keep the concerned servicing branch of LIC informed about your new status i.e. NRI and your new address. And you also need to submit NRI questionnaire form duly filled and signed.

Best way to check this is to email the Customer Care of the concerned Pvt. Company.
