Default PO MIS : How my joint account interest will be treated by PO?

I had deposited in three separate Post Office Monthly Income Scheme accounts. All the three Accounts are joint accounts. All together I can invest Rs. 6 lakhs in the joint account as per rules prevalent at the time I invested. Inadvertently, in the third account I deposited Rs.2.05 lakhs. With this the total investment in the three accounts has become Rs.6.05 lakhs. That means there is an excess deposit amount of Rs. five thousand.

The question now is whether the last deposit of Rs.2.05 lakhs is to be refunded by the Post Office with normal interest of Savings Account adjusting the excess interest paid or the amount fell in excess i.e., Rs.five thousand..
