    Default Medical Reimbursement

    Hi,

I worked for some compnay and but didn't submitted my medical bills there (Old Company). Now I have left the company.I have worked for some 4 month there.

Now the question is that as my Full and Final has been settled, now how can I take the Medical Reimbursement benefit which is around Rs.5000/- for the period, I have worked with my previous employer.

    Please suggest.

    Regards,
    Amit K

    Dear Amit,

The Medical bills must relate to the period during which you were employed. As per the rules of that company, the bills should be settled by them. Secondly, even if no bills are there, you can claim the amount as per your entitlement and allow them to deduct appropriate TDS therefrom.

    Hope it helps!

    Thumbs up

The medical bills compulsory for non deducted tax. If you have no bills, yes you can claim your medical reimbursement amount but employer will deduct tax on your medical reimbursement amount.

    Hope this will help.
