What is brokerage amount?

We have to pay the brokerage amount for every transaction we make online whether buy or sell. Can anybody tell me -

1- How much do we have to pay and on what basis?
2- Which is the best online brokerage?

Brokerage amount very from broker to broker Highest Brokerage is ICICI Direct - around 70 paise. In sharekhan its 25 paise. Also the trading volume play important part in the brokerage.

I am using indiabulls are paying 25 paise. I normally do more trading on F&O.

I can tell you about ICICI Direct -
Intraday brokerage is 5 Paisa (Rs.0.05)
Over that there are charges of STT which ICICI say will be about 2 Paisa (Rs.0.02)
Hence the total brokerage per transaction is 7 Paisa (Rs.0.07 Per Rs.100)
Plus there is a is a minimum charge of Rs. 15 per transaction or there is a percentage which comes to almost Rs.15.
