Look online
Check online price comparing websites. You’re likely to get the best rates by purchasing cover on the internet.
Be open about your health
Declare any information that could lead to a travel insurance claim, especially any pre-existing medical conditions affecting you or someone else on whom you will be travelling.
Don’t focus on price check coverage
Most of us go for the cheapest policies, but, look at the policy and make sure that it includes, at minimum, cover for medical expenses, personal liability, cancellation, baggage and cash. Also check cover limits and exclusions.
Check out excesses
Watch out for excesses on your travel insurance policy. An excess is the amount of expenses that must be paid out of pocket before an insurer will cover any expenses, if you decide to claim on your policy.
Cancellation & Terrorism
Check to see if a cancellation due to terrorist acts is covered.
Read the small print
Read the small print thoroughly and ask questions about anything you don’t understand.
