Diabetes : pre-existing condition or not?

I am currently covered under mediclaim policy of New India Assurance for last 4 years. Recently diagnosed with diabetes and undergoing treatment for the same. Looking to switch over to better coverage policy for my family of three (wife and Son). Please suggest whether the above diabetes will come under pre-existing condition or not?

If you have already purchased your insurance policy, then any new medical condition that arises after that date is not considered a Pre-existing Medical Condition.
