Resigned from the company - Can I cancel group mediclaim and buy individual mediclaim policy?

I am been part of the Group Mediclaim policy taken by my company for my parents. In July, I had resigned from the said company. My query is can I avail the benefit of group mediclaim insurance for my parents after my resignation or not. Second query – Can I cancel it and buy individual Mediclaim policy? If yes, do I need to pay difference amount for the same?

When you had resigned from the company your name is removed from the list of the company's employee and thus the cover is also cease to exist from that point.

You can buy individual health policy but it won't cover pre-existing disease.
