How to File a Complaint?
There is no prescribed format for filing complaints. All it requires is for you to submit your complaint in writing, stating the facts, with documentary proof to back your claim. If your complaint is taken up, the settlement process will get under way without even requiring your presence.
A. Initial Level for lodging Complaints
1- Postmaster / In-charge of the Post Office where the transaction has taken place Or
2- Senior Superintendent / Superintendent of Post Offices of the Division in whose jurisdiction the concerned Post Office falls or
3- The Post Master General of the Region in whose jurisdiction the concerned Post Office and Division falls.
B. If the complaint is still not settled, the complainant may approach the Chief Postmaster General of the respective Circle.
C. If the complainant is dissatisfied with the action taken, he / she may approach the Officers in the Postal Directorate, Dak Bhavan, New Delhi.
What all Complaint can I file?
The complaint may relate to any grievance against the any Post Office Investment Products e.g. Indira Vikas Pathra, Kisan Vikas Pathra, Monthly Income Scheme, National Savings Certificate, Public Providend Fund, Savings Bank i.e.
(a) Issue of Duplicate Certificate
(b) Issue of Encashment of Certificate
(c) Transfer of Certificate
(d) Closer/Premature Closer etc.
(e) Any complaint on the services rendered and concerning behaviour of employees of the Department of Posts.
Things to take care
1- Register your complaint in the Post Office where transaction has taken place and get acknowledgement.
2- Approach next higher authority of the Department if the complaint is not settled in a reasonable time.
